FSC Boardwalk at Bradford City Park

CTS have just completed a 109m x 3.9m boardwalk in FSC Ekki hardwood at Bradford City Park.

Utilising both the Hi-Grip Excel non-slip deck on the slopes and Hi-Grip Standard on the flat areas the boardwalk is edged with 150 x 400mm sections of FSC Ekki timbers to provide a kerb around the perimeter of the boardwalk.

CTS completed the boardwalk just before Christmas in 2011 for Birse Civils on behalf of client Bradford City Council.

Clapham Common Boardwalk

CTS have just completed a new 62m x 3m Ekki hardwood boardwalk at Clapham Common Mount Pond, Lambeth.  Working for main contractor FM Conway this new hardwood boardwalk comprises the non-slip Hi-Grip Excel deck boards to give maximum safety for the public.

CTS footbridge featured on The One Show

Wildlife reporter, Mike  Dilger opened his piece about otters flourishing in Dorset standing on one of CTS Bridges.  The 122m long x 2m wide cable stay truss bridge was featured many times in the report and even through the bridge was installed over the River Stour at Blandford Forum in 1999 for North Dorset Council, it is still looking good.

Cyclebridge at Bow to Olympic Park

CTS Bridges of Huddersfield have recently installed a new 16m x 3m vierendeel truss cycle bridge and 113m of ramps over the River Lee at Bow.

River Caldew Footbridge, Carlisle

In 2008 an order was placed with CTS by Volker Stevin on behalf of Cumbria County Council to design, manufacture and install two steel truss footbridges over the River Caldew, Carlisle. 

One of the bridges was 34m long x 3.03m wide and the other was a three span bridge totalling 54m x 3.03m comprising of three spans 14m, 26m, 14m.  The bridges were manufactured as Vierendeel trusses with a bow top boom. 

Far Moor Stress Laminated Bridge

CTS Bridges worked for 8 weeks in a remote area on the Pennine Way near Horton in Ribblesdale to erect this unique Stress Laminated bridleway bridge.  The 53m bridge is the longest of its kind in the world and has been shortlisted for the 2011 Construction Industry Awards and The Wood Awards in the Structural Category.

CTS use Hollingworth Haulage to deliver all their footbridges as they specialise in heavy haulage and abnormal loads.  For bridge installations where access allows, their hiab waggon can install the bridge onto prepared abutments.  Their skilled drivers off load the bridge and place under the guidance of one of CTS's experienced installation team slinger signallers.
