Parapet Material:

Parapets are available in softwood, hardwood or steel.

TYPE A

Consisting of handrail and posts with vertical infills at maximum spacings of 100mm.
This parapet provides maximum restraint especially where children may play unsupervised.

TYPE B

Consisting of handrail and posts with 2 horizontal mid rails as standard but any number of horizontal rails can be used. Easy to assemble if sent in kit form. Ideal for rural locations. Horizontal members are available as stainless steel tensioned wires.

TYPE C

Consisting of handrail and posts with diagonal cross rails. A decorative style of parapet.

TYPE D

This is any style which does not fit the 3 categories above. Examples are shown in the brochure. CTS can manufacture to your exact requirements

 
Parapet Finishes

The timber parapets are delivered in their natural state as standard. The timber will gradually fade to a silver grey colour over a period of 2 to 3 years.

The timber can be finished with a stain such as Sadolin if required. A wide range of colours are available.

Steel parapets can either be galvanised, galvanised and painted, or painted. A wide range of colours are available.

Parapet Heights

Standard parapet heights are 1.15m for footbridges, 1.4m for cycleway bridges or 1.8m high for bridleway bridges. However these can adapted to suit individual requirements.
