Dowel laminated beam bridges enable timber to be used in the construction of bridges over 10m in length. They can also be used to create bridges with bigger cambers than could be achieved using a solid beam.

Ekki hardwood is the most suitable timber for dowel-laminated beams as this extremely durable timber has a life expectancy in excess of 40 years and its high strength class, makes it an ideal timber for bridge use.
